To the Honorable Tom Corbett, Governor of Pennsylvania, the Washington
County Court of Common Pleas, and to all citizens of Washington County:

I write this letter to announce my retirement as a Trial Judge of the Court
of Common Pleas of Washington  County, effective the close of business June 30, 2012.

"I have been a Judge for the past 28 1/2 years—14 years as a District Judge and am now in my 15th year as a Criminal Trial Judge on the Court of Common Pleas. During my tenure as a Common Pleas Judge, I have been handling 60-70 percent of the criminal caseload for all of Washington County, as well as Treatment Court, Summary Appeals and License Suspension Appeals.

My objective has always been to try each case by extending fairness and respect to the respective parties and litigants. I hold our judicial process in high regard and have always felt it was an honor to serve as a Judge on our Trial Bench.

It has truly been an honor and privilege to have served the citizens of
Washington County as their Judge for over 28 years. I have especially enjoyed working with law enforcement, the District Attorney's Office, our court administration and probation departments, the Warden and staff of the correctional facility, as well as the Sheriff's department and the other members of the Minor Judiciary and Trial Bench. It has been an honor to serve with all of you.

As difficult as it may be to retire and step aside, the decision has come after many months of discussion with my wife and children and believe it serves our overall best interest. I look forward to focusing more of my attention on my family and pursuing other interests that I have often wanted to explore.

I want to give a very special thanks to my longtime secretary, Alice
Weinbrenner, as well as my various law clerks who have served me so well
over these past 15 years. I will miss interacting with you on a daily basis, for it truly  has been a pleasure to work along side of you each day.

With great personal respect and regard,
Paul Pozonsky
