Community Corner

Oakland Girls Choir presents An American Portrait

Established in 2005 by the Pittsburgh School for the Choral Arts, the Oakland Girls Choir provides an opportunity for girls from all backgrounds to experience the joy of singing in community. Singers come from cities and townships throughout western Pennsylvania with a goal of "seeking unity, creating harmony, sharing beauty."

The 37 girls ages 14 to 18 perform a wide range of music from hymns ("What Wondrous Love") through Aaron Copeland to selections from Randall Thomson's "Frostiana" and Eric Whitacre's hauntingly beautiful "Seal Lullaby."

We hope you will enjoy this diverse and exciting musical offering. Invite your friends!
