Peters Township High School Holding Library Book Fair

The library’s annual book fair will occur November 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the South Hills Village Barnes & Noble. A percentage of purchases made that day will benefit the library. There will be a storytime and crafts for kids, and Barnes & Noble is also hosting a maker fair that day with live demos of things like 3D printers and robotics. Those unable to attend, you may also purchase items online between November 11th and November 16th at www.bn.com/bookfairs. The bookfair ID number is 12225439


Donate Your Gently Used Coats for Families in Need

Peters Township School District is taking part in the 2nd Annual Coats for Kids contest sponsored by the Salvation Army & Model Cleaners. This coat drive will help local families and children stay warm in the cold winter months
Peters Township will be competing with other area schools to see who can collect the most coats through December 15. The winning school with the highest percentage of coats donated per student can win $1,000.
Donation boxes may be found at Bower Hill and Pleasant Valley elementary schools. Donations brought in to the other schools will be collected and brought to the elementary donation sites.

Planning for the Future: The New Peters Township High School

The community is invited to review plans for the new Peters Township High School on November 16 at 6 p.m. in the district administration building. That will be immediately followed by the Act 34 Hearing related to the project at 7 p.m. Please complete this form if you plan to attend.

Peters Township Library and Heisler’s Market Accepting Washington City Mission Donations

As the weather turns colder the mission’s supplies start getting low. Please bring or send non-perishable goods until November 20 to either the library or market (donation bins marked Barbara Baker Team from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices) If you can’t stop by these two locations, check out the City Mission Wish List through Amazon and ship it to to 1679 Washington Road, Pittsburgh PA 15228.
