Peters Vies For WPIAL Basketball, Swimming & Wrestling Titles

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - The next few days are huge for Peters Township High School athletics. The girls’ basketball and boys swimming teams will compete for WPIAL team championships, and eight Peters wrestlers will compete for individual WPIAL wrestling championships.

The girls’ basketball team will take on North Allegheny Saturday at 7 p.m. at the University of Pittsburgh’s Petersen Events Center. Tickets are available in the high school athletics office until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday. Adult tickets are $10 and student tickets are $5; all tickets purchased on the Pitt campus will cost $10.

Peters Township will provide buses for students and staff. The cost is $1, with the buses leaving the high school at 5:30 p.m. and returning after the game.

The swim team will compete for the championship Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the University of Pitttsburgh’s Trees Hall.

The wrestlers will vie for individual championships Friday and Saturday at Canon-McMillan High School. The competitions will be held at 2:45 and 7 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at Canon-McMillan.
