Village Of Venetia Plans Weekend Of Holiday Festivities

A craft show, tree lighting ceremony and Colonial Christmas Sunday are among the events planned.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - The holiday season will be celebrated in style this weekend with a host of activities in the Village of Venetia near Peters.

The events kick off Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the following locations:

Venetia Community Center: Activities include Christmas caroling and lighting of the Christmas tree, the Red Bird Mission Appalachian Craft Fair, the opening of the DARE Model Railroad Club and the Junior Girl Scout Troop 52449 Mitten Drive.

Wrights United Methodist Church: Nativities from around the world display and plenty of food options.

Parsons House: The will be hot chocolate and a fireplace for roasting marshmallows.

Saturday’s activities will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include the DARE Model Railroad Club display, nativities from around the world display, the Red Bird Appalachian Craft Fair and the mitten drive.

Sunday’s events occur from noon to 5 p.m. and include a soup and stroll through Colonial Christmas ($8 for adults, $5 for children) at the historic Wright House and Museum. The Red Bird Appalachian Craft Fair also will be open during those hours.
