1 Shot After 'Argument' At Philadelphia Youth Football Game: Police

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting that left a male victim injured near the Black Hawk football field following the game Sunday evening, the department said in a news release.

Police responded to 1700 North 11th Street around 7:44 p.m. Sunday after Temple University police officers reported hearing several gunshots, according to officials.

Evidence of gunfire was found on the sidewalk, police said. The victim walked into Temple's emergency room with a gunshot wound to the leg but has been listed in stable condition, according to police.

Police added that their preliminary investigation indicates the victim was with friends when he was shot at the football field after "a group of masked males began arguing and shooting."

No information about the victim or a potential perpetrator was available when Patch reached out to police Tuesday morning.
