14-Year-Old Charged With Murder In Attack On Philly Man, 73: Reports

A 14-year-old was charged with murder in the death of a 73-year-old in North Philadelphia last month, according to reports.

PHILADELPHIA, PA - A 14-year-old was charged with murder in the death of a 73-year-old in North Philadelphia last month, according to multiple reports.

Richard Jones, who was also charged with criminal conspiracy, and his 10-year-old brother surrendered on Monday in the June 24 group attack of James Lambert Jr, 6abc reported.

Jones was charged as an adult as, per Pennsylvania law, juveniles must be charged as adults for murder.

The 10-year-old was released and wasn’t charged, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Authorities say Lambert was attacked by four males and three females, all in their early- to mid-teens, on the 2100 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue. Police also believe Lambert several times with objects before he was knocked to the ground, per 6abc. Lambert suffered blunt force trauma and later died.
