2 Killed Wednesday Night In Kensington Shooting: Police

An assault rifle and handgun were used in the Wednesday night shooting that killed two men in Kensington.

PHILADELPHIA – Two men are dead following a shooting in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood Wednesday night and police are searching for the killers.

Police said the deadly shooting occurred at about 7:55 p.m. Wednesday on the 3300 block of North H Street.

Two men died as a result of the shooting.

Police said the victims are 23-year-old Anthony Torres and 38-year-old Jose Vega. Torres died on the scene and Vega later died at Temple University Hospital, police said.

The scene unfolded when two men in a gold or tan Chevrolet minivan got out of the van on the 3300 block of North H Street and started shooting at the victims with a military style rifle and a handgun.

According to police about about three dozen shots were fired.

One suspect is described as being a heavyset man with a light complexion who was wearing a black Adidas hooded sweatshirt with white stripes down the arms and a large Adidas emblem on the back, tan shorts and white /black sneakers armed with a long gun

The other was described as a thin man with a light complexion who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants armed with a handgun.

The pair were driving a gold or tan Chevrolet minivan with tinted windows, which was last seen heading west on East Thayer Street.
