20-Mile Bike Ride, 5-Mile Run To Close Philly Roads This Weekend
The 2024 Annual Philly Bike Ride will take place Saturday and the 2024 Market Street 'Run for Blue' 5-miler Run/Walk will be held Sunday.

PHILADELPHIA — Two events this weekend in Philadelphia will force road closures and parking restrictions in the city.
The 2024 Annual Philly Bike Ride will take place Saturday and the 2024 Market Street 'Run for Blue' 5-miler Run/Walk will be held Sunday.
The Philly Bike Ride is a 20-mile, car-free social bike ride that is accessible and open to all levels of cyclists, ages 3 and older.

The course features the historic sites of Center City and Independence Hall, water views along Penns Landing and Kelly Drive, and a finish line by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where a post-ride festival will take place.
The Philly Bike Ride is a rain or shine event.

The ride begins at 7:30 a.m. and the Finish Festival will conclude at 12:30 p.m.
The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 3:30 a.m. Saturday and will reopen no later than 2 p.m.:
Eakins Oval in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art
Benjamin Franklin Parkway between Eakins Oval and 20th Street
Kelly Drive between Spring Garden Street and 25th Street
Spring Garden Street off-ramp exit at Eakins Oval
The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, and will reopen no later than 12 p.m.:
- Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 20th Street and 15th Street
- Arch Street between Benjamin Franklin Parkway and 15th Street
- N. 15th Street between Arch Street and Penn Square
- Market Street between Penn Square and 5th Street
- Penn Square between Market Street and 15th Street
- 5th Street between Market Street and Race Street
- Race Street between 5th Street and N. Christopher Columbus Boulevard
- Christopher Columbus Boulevard between Race Street and Christian Street
- Christian Street between N. Christopher Columbus Boulevard and 22nd Street
- 22nd Street between Christian Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway
- Kelly Drive between 25th Street and Falls Bridge
- Falls Bridge between Kelly Drive and MLK Drive
- MLK Drive between Falls Bridge and Black Road
Street parking on the following streets are impacted and will be posted as “Temporary No Parking” zones from 12 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
- Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 22nd Street and 16th Street
- Logan Square between 18th Street and 19th Street
- Arch Street between 16th Street and 15th Street
- N. 15th Street between Arch Street and Market Street
- Market Street between 6th Street and Penn Square
- Penn Square between Market Street and 15th Street
- Race Street between 5th Street and N. Christopher Columbus Boulevard
- Christian Street between N. Christopher Columbus Boulevard and 22nd Street
- 22nd Street between Christian Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway
- Art Museum Drive between Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Pennsylvania Avenue
- Spring Garden Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Kelly Drive
Drivers must adhere to “Temporary No Parking” signs. Vehicles parked in these locations during posted hours will be relocated. If you believe your car has been relocated, call the police district of the area where your car was parked.
Additional road closures and parking restrictions may be necessary in the vicinity of the event venue as dictated by conditions. Residents and visitors should always obey posted signs and instructions from the Philadelphia Police Department.
SEPTA bus routes along the course will be detoured from their normal routes beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday.

For participants utilizing SEPTA, there are three stations located less than one mile away from the Philly Bike Ride Start Line: Fairmount, Spring Garden, and Race-Vine subway stations. Plan ahead and check the complete schedule for your preferred station at septa.org.
Athlete check-in, event-day solutions, and general information are located at Eakins Oval by the start.
Riders who are deaf or hard of hearing are welcome to meet at the Start Line Stage located at 20th Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway where there will be an interpreter. For other accessible accommodations, email hello@phillybikeride.com
Attendees should never leave bags or other items unattended. In the event of an emergency or to report a suspicious person, activity, or item (backpack, package, container, etc.), notify a police officer immediately or call 911. Do not try to open, move, cover or touch a suspicious item.

SEPTA Bus Routes 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 16, 17, 21, 23, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 42, 44, 45, 47, 48, 49, 57, 61, 124, and 125 will be detoured from their regular routes beginning at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 20 through approximately 1 p.m.
