4 Shot Near Temple University: Police
A man is thought to have shot three women while being ejected from a business across the street from the school football field, police said.
PHILADELPHIA, PA — A person of interest is in custody after he shot three women while being ejected from a business across the street from the Temple University football field, according to police.
The incident occurred at 2:45 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Diamond Street, police said. The person was escorted outside by security and brandished a weapon at the guard, who responded by shooting the person of interest, at which point the person fired back and hit the women, according to police.
The injured parties included the person of interest, a 23-year-old man who was shot in the left side and is in critical condition, police said, as well as three women, ages 19, 20 and 47, all of whom were injured in the extremities and in stable condition.

A firearm was recovered from the scene, which neighbors Temple University’s Edberg-Olson Football Complex, and the case remains under investigation, according to police.
