$5 Dog, Cat, Bunny, Guinea Pig Adoptions Saturday Pennsylvania SPCA

Dogs and cats that would normally be adopted quickly are having longer lengths of stay, but are so deserving of families, the group said.

PHILADELPHIA — The Pennsylvania SPCA is offering mega discounted adoption fees this weekend.

On Saturday, adoption fees for dogs, cats, bunnies and guinea pigs are just $5 at the PSPCA’s Philadelphia headquarters for The Really Big Adoption Event.

The discount aims to help clear the group's shelter and find good forever homes for adoptable animals.

Adoptions at the PSPCA, shelters in the area, and around the country have been very slow, according to the group.

Dogs and cats that would normally be adopted quickly are having longer lengths of stay, but are so deserving of families.

At the same time, shelters are seeing an uptick in owner surrender requests.

On this fee-reduced adoption day, all normal adoption processes and policies will be followed. More information on those processes and policies is available online here.

The Pennsylvania SPCA headquarters is located at 350 Erie Ave. in Philadelphia.
