50-Plus Philly Restaurants Supporting HIV Group April 28

PHILADELPHIA — More than 50 local restaurants are participating in a fundraising event that will support those living with HIV in the Philadelphia community.

Dining Out For Life will take place Thursday, April 28 at various participating restaurants in the region.

On April 28, restaurants such as Oyster House, Frankford Hall, Sampan, and more will donate a portion of their sales to Action Wellness.

Additionally, Yard’s Brewing Company is renaming their signature IPA to Action IPA on April 28 and is also donating a portion of their sales that day to Action Wellness.

A full list of participating restaurants is below.

Action Wellness was founded in 1986, when a group of 84 committed volunteers came together in Center City Philadelphia to form a community of care to provide services to people with AIDS.

In addition to restaurants donating sales, this year's fundraiser will also feature a limited-time virtual action that offers the chance to win trips donated by Action Wellness’ Nonprofit partner, AmFund.

These trips are good for three years with no blackout dates. They include deluxe accommodations, roundtrip airfare for two, and a travel specialist to do the booking for you.

The auction will be open from Thursday, April 21 until noon Friday, April 29.

Money raised from this event will ensure that all of Action Wellness’ clients do not face their illness or this pandemic alone.

The first Dining Out For Life took place in 1991 and has raised millions of dollars for those living with HIV in the Philadelphia community. Due to the pandemic, the event had to be modified and now two years later, Dining Out For Life is back for a major comeback.
