6ABC/Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Parade: What You Need To Know

PHILADELPHIA – The 6ABC/Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade is all set for held Thursday, Nov. 23 and promises tons of fun.

But of course with a parade comes road closures and parking restrictions.

Below is the parade route, road closures, and parking restrictions:

PARADE ROUTE:
The parade begins at 20th and J.F.K. Boulevard and proceeds east on J.F.K. to 16th Street.

The route then heads north on 16th Street to the Ben Franklin Parkway; west on the Parkway in the south-side lanes to the south side of Logan Circle.

Lastly, it heads west in the south side inner lanes to Eakins Oval and the Art Museum reviewing stand.

The parade departs the reviewing stand via Kelly Drive to Sedgley Drive.

ROAD CLOSURES:

  • Wednesday, Ni 22nd, 6PM to Thursday, November 23rd at 2PM – Eakins Oval, between Kelly Drive and MLK Drive
  • Wednesday, November 22nd, 1PM to Thursday, November 23rd at 11AM – J.F.K. Boulevard 20th Street to 30th Street Station
  • Thursday, November 23rd, 1AM - 2PM – Market Street, 19th to 21st Streets
  • Thursday, November 23rd, 4AM - 2PM – 20th Street, Market to Ben Franklin Parkway
  • Thursday, November 23rd, 7AM to 2PM – Traffic southbound on Kelly Drive will be detoured through the park at Fountain Green Drive to Oxford Drive & 33rd Street
  • Thursday, November 23rd, 7:40 AM – Remaining parade route will be shut down for the step off at 8:15 AM.

PARKING RESTRICTIONS

Restrictions will be in place along the parade route and staging areas.

Vehicles on the parade route will be relocated, beginning at 4 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23.
