PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia 76ers have unveiled some new duds that celebrate the nation's independence, which was made official right here in Philly.

City Edition jerseys are inspired by the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence, which happened right in Independence Hall in Old City.

"This is our nod to the people of this great city who’ve been in it for signature moments since the very beginning," the team says of the jerseys.

The lettering of "Phila" is in "signature" script, reminiscent of the handwriting on the nation's founding document. The color is not a pure white, but the color of parchment, just like what the Founding Fathers used to draft the Declaration of Independence.

The shorts feature a "76" which was inspired by the Bi-centennial celebration held in Philadelphia in 1976 in honor of the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Additionally, red, white, and blue stripes are featured on the trimming of the jerseys.
