After Postponement, Mummers Reschedule String Band Competition

The 2026 String Band Spectacular has been rescheduled and will take place at Lincoln Financial Field later this month, officials said.

PHILADELPHIA — The mummers have rescheduled their string bang competition after weather concerns on New Year's Day.

The annual parade on Jan. 1 was short of the signature event due to high winds.

Now, the 2026 String Band Spectacular has been rescheduled and will take place at Lincoln Financial Field.

The event will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Linc.

"Be part of a once-in-a-lifetime Philadelphia tradition." the Philadelphia String Band Association said. "We hope to see you there!"

The competition will also be broadcast later that same day on WFMZ-TV, MeTV2 (WDPN-TV), online here, and on the WFMZ+ app via Roku, Firestick, Apple TV, and newer Samsung TVs.
