All Archdiocese Of Philadelphia Schools Closing

The archdiocese said Friday that all its schools in the five-county region are closing until March 27

PHILADELPHIA — The Archdiocese of Philadelphia said it will close all its schools in the five-county archdiocese due to the local outbreak of coronavirus, known as COVID-19.

All high schools, parish and regional elementary schools, schools of special education, PREP programs, and early learning centers will close through Friday, March 27.

Additionally, the archdiocese suspended all extra-curricular and co-curricular activities including retreats, athletic events both on and off school grounds, field trips, and social events planned by elementary, secondary, and special education schools.

That suspension of activities will last through Friday, March 27th and be re-evaluated pending future developments.

There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in archdiocese schools as of Friday afternoon.

The state now has 41 cases, officials said during a 5 p.m. news conference Friday.
