Amazon Opens New Package Pickup Location As 'Porch Pirates' Loom

Concerned about Amazon deliveries being stolen? Good news: the online retailer just opened a package pickup location in Graduate Hospital.

PHILADELPHIA — It's a common story seen on the news and heard from friends and family:Amazon packages being stolen from doorsteps after they are delivered.

Now, Amazon has opened another package pickup location to curb "porch pirate" thefts in Philadelphia.

Amazon opened a new pickup location at 2300 South St. in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood on Tuesday. The pickup location has no lines, no hassle, and no box.

This marks the second Philadelphia pickup location.

Like the other pickup location at 3800 Locust Walk in University City, the new spot is safe, secure, and staffed with helpful associates as well self-serve kiosks.

Orders placed online can stay at a pickup location for up to 15 days.

Returning an Amazon order? Customers can stop in a pickup location and Amazon will provide return packaging and send it on its way.

As for Amazon Prime members, they can enjoy free Same-Day delivery, with no order minimum, to the new pickup location on more than a million items, including Eagles jerseys, electronics, health and beauty essentials, home repair tools, and more.
