PHILADELPHIA, PA — Games in London, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Eve highlight the Philadelphia Eagles schedule, released in full on Thursday evening.
Perhaps the best news for Eagles fans is the relative weakness of the schedule, particularly as compared to several of the past previous seasons where the Birds had some of the toughest slates in the NFL.
Outside of six divisional games, Birds opponents this year include Titans, Bears, Rams, Jaguars, Panthers, Steelers, Cardinals, Colts, Seahawks, and Texans. Six of them are playoff squads from last year, leaving eight games against playoff squads on the whole when counting the two Cowboys games.
When factoring in the four games against weaker squads in Washington and New York, along with very winnable games against Carolina, Tennessee, and Arizona, the Birds have more "lighter" weeks than they did last year. ESPN ranks it the 10th easiest schedule in the NFL this year.
One of those Cowboys games will be on Thanksgiving Day, marking just the eighth time in history the Birds have played on the holiday. The last time the Birds played on Thanskgiving was 2015. The Cowboys have done so 59 times.
Highlights include a visit from the defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks in Week 15, a Monday Night Football game in Chicago against the Bears in Week 3, and a Thursday Night Football matchup with the Texans in Houston in Week 16.
They will also travel to London for the Jacksonville Game in Week 5. They'll face the Jacksonville Jaguars, whom they played in London back in 2018. That 2018 game was at Wembley Stadium. This year's match up will be at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, home of the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
