PHILADELPHIA, PA — Eagles defensive end Nolan Smith was arrested in Georgia last week after driving 136 miles hour in a 70 mile per hour zone, local law enforcement said.
The Twiggs County Sheriff's Office said they pulled over the Lamborghini on I-16, about a hundred miles southeast of Atlanta.
The Georgia Gazette later confirmed that the vehicle was driven by Smith.
Police said that Smith, 25, pulled over right away and "cooperative" throughout the encounter.
"Instead of a tow truck visit for a very expensive Italian 'supercar nap,' the driver chose to follow deputies back to the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office, where citations were issued, bond was posted, and the driver was released," the sheriff's office shared.
Smith was charged with reckless driving. He has a court date set for July 14, but will not need to appear if he pays the associated fines.
The Eagles selected Smith 30th overall in the first round of the 2023 draft. He was a key part of the 2025 team's Super Bowl winning defense, recording 4 sacks in the playoffs.
