The board also backed a $1.5 billion capital plan for renovations, new construction, and asbestos work, as Mayor Cherelle Parker’s proposed $1-per-ride rideshare tax looms as a potential new funding source.
3. Pennsylvania caregiver, 3 others charged after human remains discovered in suitcase (fox8.com) — Philadelphia police and the District Attorney’s Office have charged four people after a man’s dismembered body was discovered in a suitcase and trash bags off East Hilton Street. Prosecutors say the victim’s caregiver allegedly admitted to shooting him, while relatives are accused of helping to dismember and clean up the scene. Employees say they stopped coming to work after paychecks ceased in late April and later received furlough notices.
