Body Found In Suitcase; Victim's Caregiver, 3 Of Her Relatives Charged: Philly DA

PHILADELPHIA — A man's dismembered body was found in a suitcase in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood. His girlfriend who was his home health aide shot and killed him, and her relatives helped hide his remains, authorities said Thursday.

A man was searching for scrap metal May 22 in an alley on the 600 block of East Hilton Street. He told police he found a gray suitcase holding what appeared to be human remains, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.

The victim's remains, wrapped in two industrial-sized trash bags, were in the early stages of decomposition, authorities said. He had been shot in the head multiple times.

Investigators identified the victim as Vincent Good, 53, of Philadelphia.

Further investigation found Liza Ridley — Good's girlfriend and his registered home health aide — used a ride-share service on the morning of May 21, authorities said. She had a gray suitcase, and a fluid stain was found on the floor of the vehicle, according to the DA's Office.

Ridley, 53, has been charged with murder and related offenses.

Her sister Bernadette Ridley, daughter Liza Robinson, and Gnaeus Daniels — Robinson's boyfriend — were charged for helping clean up the crime scene and disposing of evidence, authorities said.

Bernadette Ridley also helped dismember Good's body, officials said.

"This case was quickly solved largely thanks to two good Samaritan Philadelphians who came forward as crucial witnesses and shared vital information with law enforcement," said District Attorney Larry Krasner.

Attorney information for the suspects wasn't immediately available in online court records.

The investigation remains active.
