Martin Luther King Drive is expected to remain closed overnight.

"Please follow direction of police at closure points," said the Philadelphia OEM. "Never drive around barriers. Never drive through floodwaters."

Philadelphia has been hit by severe storms over the past few days, including a round of flash floods around noontime Monday.

Roadways along the Schuylkill River — including Kelly and Martin Luther King drives — have been especially inundated.

A flash flood watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday.
