PHILADELPHIA — FBI agents operated Tuesday at a Northeast Philadelphia home where two children and dozens of animals were living in squalor, according to reports.
The investigation centers around a home on the 7100 block of Whitaker Street, Philadelphia Police told NBC10. Two children, 38 cats and a dog were removed from the premises after authorities found them living in deplorable conditions.
Both children were brought to the hospital for evaluation, according to CBS News.
Meanwhile, FBI agents conducted a court-approved law operation at the home, the federal agency told NBC10. Specifics on the investigation were not confirmed.
More cats were found inside the home Wednesday morning, and officials are still searching for any animals that might still be roaming inside, NBC10 says.
The investigation remains active, and no charges have been announced as of this writing.
