A flash flood warning was issued Tuesday afternoon in Philadelphia and Delaware County, with forecasters warning of "life-threatening" floods caused by thunderstorms.
The warning was issued at 2 p.m. and is in effect until 6 p.m. in southwestern Philadelphia, east-central Delco and portions of South Jersey.
Thunderstorms are producing heavy rain across the warned area, with flash floods expected to begin shortly. Between 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall per hour.
Flooding will be especially dangerous on roadways, underpasses, urban areas and near creeks and streams.
