2. Off-Duty Police Officer Shot, Killed In Philadelphia: Officials (patch.com) — Southwest Philadelphia is mourning after 29-year-old off-duty Police Officer Alhassane Barry was fatally shot early Sunday near 73rd Street and Elmwood Avenue, where a second man was also wounded. Barry, who served in the 12th Police District, died at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and city leaders are urging anyone with information to contact Philadelphia Police as the investigation continues.
3. Masked individual sought after allegedly terrorizing people near Philadelphia City Hall (wgal.com) — Police are searching for a masked man who allegedly chased and threatened people near Philadelphia City Hall early last Wednesday, including two women who were cornered or blocked as they tried to pass. The suspect, described as a thin Black male aged 16 to 20, was last seen entering Suburban Station and faces potential charges including terroristic threats and harassment.
4. Reports of shots fired at 2 separate locations in area of Temple U., school say (nbcphiladelphia.com) — People near Temple University in North Philadelphia are being urged to avoid parts of N. Gratz Street and N. 9th Street after two separate reports of shots fired late Monday night. Police found shell casings and a damaged car but no injuries so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
5. Philly Says Gun Shop Insurer Must Pay $12M Settlement (law360.com) — Philadelphia is seeking to force an insurance company to cover nearly $12 million from a settlement the city reached with a gun shop operator over alleged illegal firearm purchases. The complaint, filed in Pennsylvania state court, aims to shift the financial burden of that agreement from taxpayers to the shop's insurer.
