'A People's Philly' at DesignPhiladelphia (upenn.edu) — A new exhibition called A People's Philly is coming to the DesignPhiladelphia festival, inviting residents to help imagine the city's future through hands-on mapping, collaging, and design activities. Drawing on activism in North Philadelphia, Kensington, West Philadelphia, and beyond, the show runs October 1–11 at the Village of Industry and Art and highlights community-led visions for spatial justice and shared stewardship.
3. 10 Indicted In Philadelphia Cocaine Trafficking Case Tied To Mexican Cartel (freedombunker.com) — Federal prosecutors say a trafficking ring moved hundreds of kilos of cocaine into Philadelphia, leading to ten indictments, major seizures, and ongoing investigations with local police and the FBI. Authorities describe the operation as a serious threat to city neighborhoods and stress that more arrests are likely as they target cartel-linked suppliers and distributors.
4. Philadelphia Area Rents Slip as More Landlords Offer Deals (mychesco.com) — If you rent in Philadelphia, you may have a bit more leverage this fall, with median asking rents dipping to $1,772 in August and over a third of listings offering concessions.
