PHILADELPHIA — A man is wanted by the FBI and Philadelphia Police for a fatal shooting in South Philadelphia from two years ago.
Byshere Smith is accused of fatally shooting a man on the night of June 26, 2024, on the 2200 block of South 23rd Street, the FBI says.
Smith was charged a month later with murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and weapons offenses.
More than two years later, the 26-year-old remains at large. The FBI's Philadelphia Field Office says it's helping Philadelphia Police with the search.
The FBI provided a photo of Smith (see above) and said he is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 185 pounds. He was born in Philadelphia on Feb. 4, 2000. Here's the FBI's flyer.
Smith should be considered armed and dangerous, the FBI says.
Anyone with information on Smith's location can contact their local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate.
