An investigation has centered around the 500 block of North Simpson Street in West Philadelphia, where Alford lived before her disappearance. Police have used cadaver dogs to search for clues outside a home on the block, according to 6abc Action News.

Detectives and federal agents have participated in the search, said District Attorney Larry Krasner, who has urged anyone with information about Alford to contact police.

"There are a lot of great detectives, there are some federal special agents, also some assistant DAs in my office and some detectives in my office who are all doing everything we can to locate Jalayshia," Krasner said on video. "But we need help, and the help we need is from you."

Krasner said if you have "any information at all," call 911 and ask to speak with the Philadelphia Police Department's Southwest Detectives — or, just tell them what information you have about Alford.

You can also call the PPD's tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

Alford was last seen around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, police said. She was dressed for school in a blue uniform polo or button-up shirt, blue skirt, blue pullover, blue stockings and either Crocs or black sneakers. She also wears glasses.

She is 4 feet, 11 inches tall and about 70 pounds.

"These are all our kids," Krasner said. "We have to do everything we can to help to try to solve this situation. And I'm asking you — we have to do this now. Please call."
