Armed Sex Assault Suspect Captured On Video, Police Release Footage
Police released footage of the suspect they said is responsible for the two recent armed sexual assaults in Southwest Philadelphia.
PHILADELPHIA — Police in Philadelphia released video of who they say is the suspect in armed sexual assaults that occurred in Southwest Philadelphia recently.
The first incident occurred at 3 a.m. Saturday and the second at 5 p.m. Monday.
In the first incident, a woman was stopped at a traffic light in her vehicle on the 1600 block of South 55th Street when a man came up to her vehicle.

Police said the man pointed a gun at her and demanded money.
She gave the man $20, then he told her to unlock the car doors.

He got inside the vehicle and told her to drive to 49th and St. Bernard street where he sexually assaulted her, police said.
Then, police said he drove the victim to an ATM where she withdrew money.
After getting the money, the man got out of the vehicle and left the area, police said.
The suspect was described as a black man in his mid-20s with a thin build who as wearing dark gray sweatpants, gray hoodie, and a blue mask.
Then on Monday, a woman was walking on the 1100 block of South Paxon Street when a man came up behind her, pointed a gun at her side, and demanded money, police said.
Se gave the man $25 and prescription medication, then he forced her into an alley on Paxon Street where he sexually assaulted her, police said.
He left the area in an unknown direction.
In this incident, police described the suspect as a black man with a thin build who was wearing dark pants, a blue hoodie, a blue mask, and a red Phillies hat with a White P on it.
The suspect is believed to frequent the Kingsessing area of Southwest Philadelphia.
