Ben Franklin Bridge Closing Sunday Morning For Charity Run

The Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge Event will close the Ben Franklin Bridge for two-and-a-half hours Sunday morning, authorities said.

PHILADELPHIA — The Ben Franklin Bridge will close for a few hours Sunday morning to accommodate a charity run.

According to the Delaware River Port Authority, the bridge will close from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday for the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge Event.

The event consists of an in-person 10K run, a virtual 10K run, an in-person 2 mile walk, as well as a virtual 2-mile walk.

Proceeds will benefit the Larc School, a non-profit special needs school in Bellmawr, New Jersey.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes, such as the Walt Whitman Bridge or PATCO, during the closure.
