Body With Gunshot To Head Found In Schuylkill River Thursday

A body pulled form the river was found to have a gunshot wound to the head and Philadelphia Police are treating it as a homicide.

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia Police are investigating a homicide after a dead body with a gunshot wound to the head was recovered from the Schuylkill River Thursday morning.

According to police, the body was found at about 10:53 a.m. in the river at Walnut Street and Schuylkill Avenue in Center City.

Police said the body was that of a white male in his 50s and was suffering form a gunshot wound to the forehead.

The man was pronounced dead at 10:55 a.m., police said.
