Celebrate 20 years of Shakespeare in Clark Park with A Bottom’s Dream—a bold, joyful, and completely free musical reimagining of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This world premiere queer pop disco adaptation from Richard Rodgers Award winner Jay Eddy features Philly drag icon Lili St. Queer, a powerhouse ensemble of Barrymore-recognized talent, and a Youth Ensemble of local performers. Expect original music blending Chappell Roan, Donna Summer, and Daft Punk vibes, all under the summer stars.

In this special concert and historical presentation, the bells of Christ Church will ring out from the historic belfry in musical conversation with the church’s legendary 1702 bell displayed outside. Cast in the very same foundry as the Liberty Bell and predating it by more than 50 years, the 1702 bell offers a rare connection to colonial Philadelphia and the earliest sounds of the city. The event will also feature the magnificent pipe organ of Christ Church. Installed just eight years ago, the instrument blends modern craftsmanship with the church’s centuries-old acoustic tradition, filling the sanctuary with music. Alongside the performance, guests will enjoy a fascinating historical talk exploring the story of the bells, their role in the life of the church and city, and the enduring power of sound in moments of revolution, remembrance, and celebration. Celebrate Independence Day surrounded by the sights, sounds, and stories of one of Philadelphia’s most historic landmarks.
