This native son of Philly Soul and has been singing professionally for most of his life. Living Legend Patti LaBelle is credited with discovering the teen who like her, would go on to become and Amateur Night Winner at the world famous Apollo Theater! You’ve undoubtably seen or heard Robert before because he has worked with some R&B's finest over his career like Vesta Williams, Bee Bee Winans, LaShun Pace Rhodes, Teena Maria, The Emotions, Tevin Campbell, Kashif, Atlantic Starr and Loose Ends Feat. Jane Eugene! Luther Vandross hand picked this 2 time Black Music Association Award winner for Best Male Vocal R&B Performance to be featured in his Power Of Love Video! After hearing Gee, Chaka Khan even tweeted "what a soulful, unique voice"!

Roberts broad talents and classically trained tenor have taken him from local Jazz club beginnings to operas on the grand stage of the Academy Of Music and as far away as The Grand Opera House in Armenia! Where he starred in Jesus Christ Super Star and numerous other regional and touring theater productions such as The Wiz, Pippin, Ain't Misbehavin, Dreamgirls, Sy Coleman’s The Life, The Five Heartbeats LIVE directed by Harry Lennix and Blues In The Night just to name a few! After staring in the musical The Five Heartbeats Live!, Robert Townsend, sought after Gee and directed him in the roll of Bossman in the made for TV movie "The Little Richard Story" for NBC! Whether a touring artist center stage or BGV support artist, Robert is always a featured standout.
