Fall Down / Stand Up: Mastering the Art of Fall Prevention and Fall Recovery is a free 10-week community program designed to help older adults feel stronger, steadier, more prepared, and more confident.
Falls can affect far more than physical health. They can change someone’s independence, willingness to leave home, comfort navigating stairs and uneven sidewalks, and ability to continue participating in everyday activities.
Fall Down / Stand Up addresses both sides of the challenge:

Stephen Cornely of Triad Wellness Philly will teach strength, balance, reaction, and movement skills designed to help participants reduce their fall risk.

<li>
Judith Sachs of Anyone Can Move will teach practical strategies for safely approaching the ground, practicing falling techniques on padded gym mats, moving after a fall, and getting back up with greater confidence.
</li>
</ul>
The goal is not to make people more fearful of falling. It is to help participants become stronger, more capable, and better prepared.
Independence Blue Cross is fully funding the program, allowing all 10 weeks to be offered completely free to participants.

“Where our baggage is yours!” Welcome to the Bearded Ladies’ Hairport, an interactive installation &amp; performance series built on 16-years of accumulated baggage from a queer cabaret company devoted to art, care, mess, and community. While you’re waiting for a flight that may never take off, unpack your baggage and rifle through some of ours. You may recognize something as your own, or find something you never knew you were carrying.
Made for anyone who has ever lost a bag, gotten stuck, or missed a (metaphoric) flight, this trans(formational) installation asks: how do you know it’s time to move on when you don’t know where you’re going?

The Hairport is an interactive, immersive installation filled with costumes, cardboard props, and other ephemera from the Bearded Ladies Cabaret’s 16-year performance history. Visitors will make their way through a sprawling multi-room space made to look like a fantastical, metaphorical “airport”. Visitors will be invited to interact with components of the installation and may encounter docents in guiding roles. The experience will culminate in a “lounge” space full of “Bearded baggage” which will also serve as the performance site for the Now Hoarding: In-Flight Entertainment live event series.
It will take visitors approximately 60-75 minutes to view the entirety of the Priority Hoarding installation. Groups of 6 will enter the installation, at 15-minute timed entry intervals. An opportunity to ride a Surrey bike is offered but not required.

Explore the life and work of one of the 20th century's most significant artists, Lee Krasner.
In this talk, Eleanor Nairne, Keith L. and Katherine Sachs Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art and Department Head, Modern and Contemporary at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and curator of Lee Krasner: Living Color, will trace Krasner's life and 50-year career. Focusing on the transformative final decades of Krasner's life, during which time Krasner created Untitled (1968-1983) on view in A Nation of Artists, Nairne will demystify the artist's process and tenacity in life and art.
About Eleanor Nairne
Eleanor Nairne is the Keith L and Katherine Sachs Curator and Head of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Previously, she was the Senior Curator at Barbican Art Gallery, London, where her exhibitions included Basquiat: Boom for Real (2017), Lee Krasner: Living Colour (2019), Jean Dubuffet: Brutal Beauty (2021), Soheila Sokhanvari: Rebel Rebel (2022), Alice Neel: Hot Off The Griddle (2023) and Julianknxx: Chorus in Rememory of Flight (2023). Internationally, she has curated shows such as Erotic Abstraction: Eva Hesse / Hannah Wilke (2021) at the Acquavella Galleries in New York. From 2011-2015, she was Curator of the Artangel Collection at Tate, organising more than 30 exhibitions and displays across the UK. While the Continental Congress debated the issue of independence from Britain, laboring people were already fighting for their rights in the fields and the streets. It did not take long for the wealthier and more conservative members of the Congress—a coalition of merchants, lawyers, and slave-holding Southern planters—to express alarm at the outspoken and often clamorous participation of the less prosperous segments of society in the revolutionary process.
John Adams, James Madison, and others expressed their fears of what they called “riff raff,” “the rabble,” and “the mob.” They believed that the “lower orders,” once they had mobilized, could bring forward a type of “excessive democracy” that would disrupt the previously “stable” and “balanced” political system that wealthy men with property had always dominated.
And yet, it was the less wealthy sectors of American life—small farmers, shopkeepers, craftsmen, journeymen, apprentices, mariners, laborers, and Black people (both slave and free)—who were the mainspring of the Revolution. The men met in local assemblies, fought in the militias or at sea, and marched the length of the Eastern seaboard, while the women furnished the American army with supplies while continuing to keep civil life humming.
In this illustrated lecture at Gloria Dei (Old Swedes’) Church, history researcher and writer Michael Schreiber will describe how many “lower-class” and laboring people contributed in exciting ways to the American Revolution. He will show how recent research has uncovered the activity during the Revolution of a number of people who were members of the Gloria Dei congregation and subsequently buried or memorialized in the churchyard.

Seating is the primary focus, with numerous sets and pairs of upholstered bar chairs, bar stools, dining chairs, and molded plastic seating. Styles range from contemporary and industrial to Mid-Century Modern inspired designs. Many examples feature grey or light-colored upholstery paired with black metal frames, while others incorporate curved wood or wood-veneer backrests, tubular frames, sled bases, tapered legs, and integrated footrests.
The auction also includes numerous coordinated bar-height and café table sets. Tables feature wood, white laminate, and faux marble tops paired with black, chrome, brushed metal, or black-and-brass pedestal and frame designs. Several larger industrial-style high-top tables measure approximately six feet long and are accompanied by matching or complementary stools, while smaller round pedestal tables provide options for café, restaurant, and hospitality seating arrangements.
Commercial fixtures include three reception counters or desks, including modular and faux marble designs with storage cabinetry, raised transaction surfaces, decorative trim, and contemporary finishes. These pieces complement the broader selection of contract-style seating and tables.
With 40 lots largely devoted to coordinated commercial seating and tables, the sale provides an opportunity to acquire chairs in multiples rather than individually. Offerings range from four-chair dining and bar sets to pairs of stools, complete café arrangements, high-top table-and-stool combinations, reception furniture, and individual tables.
The catalog is particularly well suited to restaurants, cafés, bars, offices, waiting areas, event spaces, and other commercial interiors, with many chairs offered in matching sets.
