Mom Spends $25K On Camel, Cars, And More For Pre-Prom Party

Johnny Eden Jr.'s prom was definitely a night to remember after his mom threw a Dubai-themed pre-prom party in North Philly.

PHILADELPHIA – Sometimes parents want to reward their children for being good students. What are good ways to reward them? Maybe a trip to an amusement park or a concert, a new video game or dinner at their favorite spot. Even gifting vehicles isn't out of the question for some.

But one Philadelphia mom went above and beyond after her son earned straight As this year.

According to multiple reports, Saudia Shuler spent $25,000 on her son's pre-prom festivities for his nearly perfect report card.

Johnny Eden Jr. got a 3.8 GPA at Simon Gratz Mastery Charter in Philadelphia, where he is also a basketball star.

"I was just trying to pay honor my son, because he is such a good kid," she told CBS Philly. "He did everything I required of him, throughout his whole entire life from first grade all the way up to 12th grade straight A’s but always get a B in something dumb like gym."

Shuler went all out for her son, bringing in a camel, three dates, a Rolls Royce and a Lamborghini, six custom outfits (one for each date and three for him), and literally tons of sand for the Dubai-themed block party in North Philadelphia, according to Daily Local News.

Shuler said she battled cancer and never thought she'd see her son attend a prom, so when she could, she went all out.

"I said, if I ever live to make it I’m going to put on a big prom and a big graduation for my son," she told CBS, "and I just prayed and I hoped I got to see my son go to graduation and go on prom, because I didn’t believe I was going to make it."

Eden is planning to attend Delaware State University in the fall. He will have quite the story to tell his new classmates about his senior prom.
