Chestnut Street Closing Weeknights In Philadelphia Through Sept 15
During the weeknight closure, motorists will be directed to use University Avenue, Market Street, and 36th Street, PennDOT said.
PHILADELPHIA — Chestnut Street in Philadelphia will be closed weeknights through mid-September for PECO work, according to PennDOT.
PennDOT said PECO will be performing conduit installation on Chestnut Street overnight Monday through Friday, Sept. 15.
Work will be done from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

Chestnut Street will be closed between University Avenue and 36th Street.
During the closure, motorists will be directed to use University Avenue, Market Street, and 36th Street.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur.
