Dead Horse Found In Fairmount Park: SPCA

A horse was found dead in Fairmount Park Tuesday and authorities are working to find out how it died and if animal cruelty played a role.

PHILADELPHIA — A horse was found dead in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park Tuesday and authorities are now working to find out what exactly led to the horse's death.

According to the Pennsylvania SPCA, the horse was found Tuesday in the park, just off Chamounix Drive.

It was taken to Penn Vet’s New Bolton Center in Chester County for a necropsy, which will determine the horse's cause of death.

The necropsy will also determine whether cruelty was involved.

The SPCA said it may release photos of the horse in hopes that the public will help investigators identify the horse.
