Downed Wire Cancels Trains Between Philly, New York: Amtrak

Amtrak at about 8 a.m. said the downed wires on tracks are causing delays and cancelations of trains going between the two cities.

PHILADELPHIA — A downed wire on Amtrak train tracks is impacting travel between Philadelphia and New York, according to officials.

At about 8 a.m. Monday, Amtrak said all trains traveling between Philadelphia and New York may be delayed or temporarily stopped due to the wire issue.

So far the 600, 644, 609, and 645 trains have been canceled.

Amtrak customers are encouraged to rebook to the next available service.

"We sincerely apologize for this delay and our crews are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible," Amtrak said. "We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding."

There is no word on when trains may resume normal schedules.
