DTLR Announces Grand Opening of New Chelten Ave. Store
The new store – slated to open on March 12 – is located across from the previous DTLR location, which was damaged during the summer of 20
DTLR, one of the country’s most successful lifestyle retailers with more than 240 stores in 19 states, announced today the grand opening of its new store on Chelten Avenue, which will be unveiled to the public on March 12. The new store is located across the street from the previous location in the old Walgreens building at 100 W. Chelten Ave. in the Germantown neighborhood, which has been completely renovated.
This new location marks the retailer's largest one-story location, allowing DTLR to not only accommodate more product, but also to hire twice as many employees from the local community.
DTLR has made a major investment in the Philadelphia area, and is committed to reinvesting in its neighborhood-based stores -- many of which were damaged in the summer of 2020 -- making shopping and job opportunities accessible for the local community where their stores reside. In addition to the Chelten Ave. location, DTLR will be reopening several other area stores in the near future, including one on Kensington Avenue.

“DTLR is wholeheartedly committed to reinvesting in its stores that were damaged -- creating shopping and job opportunities in neighborhoods that may not otherwise have access, so we are excited to unveil our new Chelten location to the community,” commented DTLR Co-CEO Scott Collins. “Our stores in the Philadelphia area were some of the hardest hit during the summer of 2020, however we strongly believe we need to rebuild in our communities and be a part of the healing process. This store opening gets us one step closer.”
