Eagles Hall Of Famer Tommy McDonald Dies At 84
The Eagles wide receiver who is a member of the the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame died Monday, the team said.

PHILADELPHIA – A former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver, NFL Champion, and member of the Pro and College football halls of fame died Monday, according to the team.
Tommy McDonald, who played for the Birds from 1957 to 1963, died at 84 years old Monday, according to the team.
There is no word on what caused his death.

McDonald, of New Mexico, came to the Eagles after playing football at the University of Oklahoma.
He was a member of the 1960 NFL Championship Eagles team that defeated Vince Lombardi's Green Bay Packers.

During his time in Philly, McDonald led the league in touchdown receptions twice in 1958 and 1960, and led the league in receiving yards in 1960.
McDonald was later traded to the Dallas Cowboys and also played for the Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta Falcons, and Cleveland Browns before retiring in 1969.
"He had a genuine love for his team, for the Philadelphia Community, for the fans, and of course his family," Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement on McDonald's death. "He was a man of character, on and off the field, who exemplified all the qualities that we hope to represent as an organization."
