Eagles International Support Among Highest In NFL, Research Shows

Gambling.com released findings of a new study on international fan bases for NFL teams, and the Eagles came in among the top 10.

PHILADELPHIA — It's no surprise to anyone that the Philadelphia Eagles have a passionate fan base.

But as it turns out, the Birds have a large contingent of fans who don't live in the United States.

Gambling.com released results from a study looking at which NFL teams have the highest international support.

Among the top 10 are the Philadelphia Eagles.

The website's staff analyzed the social media following of every team in the NFL to show which teams have the highest percentage of international fans in the league.

According to Gambling.com, the Eagles have a 34.1 percent international fan base.

So just over a third of the people who are rooting for the Eagles are located outside the U.S.

The largest portion of Eagles fans living overseas are located in Jordan, according to the website.

The website also reports 8.8 percent of Jordanians are Eagles fans.

Below are the NFL teams with the highest international fan base, per Gambling.com:

1. San Francisco 49ers — 51.1 percent

2. Minnesota Viking — 44.5 percent

2. New England Patriots — 44.5 percent

4. Green Bay Packers — 43.8 percent

4. Seattle Seahawks — 43.8 percent

6. Pittsburgh Steelers — 38.7 percent

7. Miami Dolphins — 36.3 percent

8. Dallas Cowboys — 36.2 percent

9. Philadelphia Eagles — 34.1 percent

10. Arizona Cardinals — 34 percent

The website reports Mexico is the most common country to dominate the international fan bases of the NFL, appearing 11 times as a team’s largest international fan base.

Germany is close behind in second place, appearing eight times on the list.

China, Canada and Brazil were tied for third place, with three appearances each.
