PHILADELPHIA — Ed Sheeran has a new skill to add to his resume: slinging cheesesteaks.

The English singer-songwriter who has achieved pop stardom was in Philadelphia for two performances this weekend.

While fans expected to see him at an intimate acoustic show at The Met then a massive stadium concert at Lincoln Financial Field, many were surprised to see him at Phillip's Steaks, where he was making and serving up sandwiches to an elated crowd.

Sheeran popped into the South Philly spot Saturday before his concert at the Linc.

"We would like to thank Ed Sheeran and his team for coming to the one and only Philips Steaks and making an absolute great Cheesesteak," Phillip's said on social media.

Sheeran learned from brother-owners Joseph and Philip Baldino how to make a steak and served up quite a few to throngs of fans.

He teased on Instagram that he was planning to meet fans at the iconic steak shop, and boy did they show up.

Phillip's ordering and pickup windows were crowded with fans, with one saying on Sheeran's social media saying the steak he served up was perfect.

"I think Ed did just a little bit better than my brother Philip for his first time making a cheesesteak," Joseph said.

"That was really fun," Sheeran said in a social media video.

And, for the record, Phillip's said Sheeran is a wiz wit guy, signaling a win for fans of the gooey, salty, processed cheese sauce.
