Rape Charge Added For Ex-Philly Homicide Cop
Former detective Donald Suchinsky was charged with stalking and more crimes back in February and now faces new charges, including rape.

PHILADELPHIA — A former Philadelphia homicide detective who was recently charged with stalking, harassment, and related crimes has been charged in a new case with rape and more charges.
Donald Suchinsky, 57, of Hatboro, was rearrested and charged with rape, official oppression, terroristic threats, sexual assault, and related crimes, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office and court documents.
The new allegations against Suchinsky involve a second woman who lost a loved one to homicide and came into contact with Suchinsky as part of his official duties as a homicide detective.

According to the DA's office, Suchinsky is accused of 10 incidents of assault against a second victim between 2017 and 2022.
Suchinsky had been one of the homicide detectives assigned to investigate the murder of the woman’s brother in 2017.

He is being held on $1.5 million bail.
These new charges come about three months after he was charged with aggravated indecent assault, stalking, official oppression, harassment, and more crimes.
Authorities said he stalked and sexually harassed the mother of a homicide victim in a case he was assigned to.
The DA's office news of Suchinsk's arrest in February resulted in tips to the Special Investigations Unit, which were key to the development of the second criminal case against him.
