Bring Back Dollar Dog Nights To Citizens Bank Park, Fan Petition Urges
After the Philadelphia Phillies announced Dollar Dogs Nights are over due to unruly fans, a fan has launched a petition to bring it back.
PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia sports fans are nothing if not pugnacious. And fans are proving that by fighting back against the tragic news that Dollar Dog Nights at Citizens Bank Park are over.
The team Thursday said Dollar Dog Nights are being replaced with a buy-one-get-one hot dog promotion, where fans at home Phillies games can get one hot dog for $5 and another for free.
Team officials cited unruly fans, particularly an April 11, 2023, Dollar Dog Night that led to hot dogs being hurled around one section of the park, as one of the catalysts for the change. They also said Dollar Dog Nights led to long lines at concession stands, which in turn lead to unhappy fans.
