Flights To Barbados, Costa Rica Coming To Philly International Airport

American Airlines in November and December will begin offering direct flights to the two tropical destinations from Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA — There will be a new way to beat the winter time blues later this year, as American Airlines will begin offering direct flights to two tropical destinations from the Philadelphia International Airport.

Starting Nov. 9, American will offer flights to Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados.

Those flights will only be available on Saturdays.

Then on Dec. 7, American will begin flights to Liberia, Costa Rica.

These will also only be available on Saturdays.

Tickets for these and all other newly announced routes will be available for sale on the American Airlines website here and on American’s mobile app starting Monday, May 20.

"Customers will have more reasons to choose American than ever before for nonstop fun in the sun this year," Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, said. "We are excited to continue growing our network to the region with more flights this winter to the Caribbean and Latin America than any other U.S. carrier ever."

The new winter schedule will offer 11 percent more departures and 10 percent more seats compared to American's 2023 winter schedule.
