Former Eagles Player, Super Bowl Champ, Dies At 38

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Bryan Braman, a Super Bowl champion with the Philadelphia Eagles during their magic 2018 run, has died after battling a rare form of cancer, according to his former teammates. He was 38.

A GoFundMe page established to help with his ongoing care detailed that he has undergone numerous procedures and transfusions over the past several months in an attempt to fight the disease. One of the largest contributors to the page was star lineman J.J. Watt, a former teammate of Braman's in Houston.

"Rest in peace, brother," Watt wrote Thursday morning. "Gone far too soon."

Braman leaves behind two daughters, ages 11 and 8.

"Today is a tough day that hits close to home,"Eagles star Lane Johnson said. "I always admired Bryan’s ability to overcome life’s obstacles, his passion for the game, and the love he had for his friends and family. Rest in peace, Brother."

"I didn’t intend on crying this morning," former Eagles teammate Emmanuel Acho shared. "Then I read the news on my teammate, Bryan Braman. Love you Braman. You lived a hard life, and you never complained about it. A champion in life and a warrior in death. It is forever, indeed."

Braman's six-year NFL career included two stints in Philadelphia, along with a few seasons in Houston and New Orleans. The 2017 season was his last, and the 2018 Super Bowl, in which the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots, was the final game of his career. He recorded one tackle in the game.
