Former Philly Cop Pleads Guilty To Stalking Ex Girlfriend

Former Philadelphia Police Officer Robert McDonald repeatedly called his ex-girlfriend, drove past her home, and showed up unannounced.

PHILADELPHIA — A former Philadelphia Police officer accused of harassing his ex-girlfriend was convicted of stalking.

Robert McDonald, 45, of Philadelphia, Wednesday pleaded guilty to stalking Wednesday in a Philadelphia court.

McDonald was charged in 2019 and fired from the police department after he was charged.

Before his termination, he worked in the 15th District, police said.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, McDonald repeatedly called his ex-girlfriend, drove past her house, and showed up at her home unannounced for years after they broke up.

As part of McDonald's guilty plea, he was sentenced to one year probation, must not have contact with the victim, is not permitted to possess firearms, and must stay in Philadelphia unless approved by authorities.
