Crew Leaders play an integral role in the stewardship of the park by leading volunteers in the field, removing invasive plant species, planting native trees and shrubs, improving the trail system, removing litter, and working closely with Friends of the Wissahickon staff. Prior knowledge or experience is not required, but is welcome.
The trail ambassador program is the outreach wing of Friends of the Wissahickon's volunteer corps and is perfect for those who are outgoing, love the park, and want to share knowledge about it and events with park visitors. Trail Ambassadors provide park information and visitor assistance at outreach tables and hiking shifts, lead Guided Walks & Talks, and assist at Volunteer Service Days. Existing knowledge and/or familiarity with the Wissahickon Valley Park is preferred.
