Gator Rescued From Philly Apartment Fire: Report

One person was injured in the fire that broke out Wednesday night.

Philadelphia firefighters responded to an apartment in the city's Tacony section Wednesday night for a fire. While they extinguished the fire, they also made a rescue. An atypical rescue, at that.

According to 6ABC responders saved a foot-long alligator from the apartment at the corner of Unruh Avenue and Tulip Street.

The outlet reports animal control took the reptile from the scene.

One person was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to 6ABC.

Crews had the fire under control in about 15 minutes.
