Girl, 2, Dies After Mother Hits Her With Vehicle: Philly Police
A 31-year-old mother fatally struck her 2-year-old daughter on the 200 block of Comly Street early Wednesday evening, police said.
PHILADELPHIA — A 2-year-old girl died after her mother hit her with a car Wednesday evening in Philadelphia, police said.
The crash occurred at about 5:37 p.m. on the 200 block of Comly Street.
A 31-year-old woman driving a blue Chevy Traverse struck her daughter at that time and location, police said.

Police said the mother was double parked and unloading groceries.
The mother went back to the vehicle and without her knowledge the child followed her.

When the vehicle began to move, it struck the child, police said.
The child was taken to Einstein Hospital by Medic 12 and was listed in critical condition, according to police. However, she was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m., police said.
The crash scene was secured, and the investigation is being led by the Crash Investigation Division.
